HOW DID WE GET HERE?
IN THE EARLY SEVENEENTH CENTURY, MANUSCRIPTS purported to be pre-Mosaic in origin began to circulate in Germany. These so-called Rosicrucian manifestos were the purported ancient truths, the “perennial philosophy” held to be the origin of all human religions. The manifestos not only contained spiritual philosophy, but had a clear political intent of setting forth an alternative to the Jesuit Order.1(p42) These manuscripts were “The Fama,” “The Confessio,” and “The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkruetz.”
